Exploring the Strategies of Translating Cultural References in Kurdish Subtitling

The current study investigates the strategies of translating cultural references applied in Kurdish subtitles American movie entitled ‘Scent a Woman’. This research also determines parameters that affect application translation on movie. In doing so, English audio scripts (i.e., source text) and their target text), were compared interpreted accordance with Pedersen’s taxonomy subtitling (2011). results revealed all proposed by Pedersen (2011) used subtitles.
